Complete a Task

A Task is performed and completed from the page of a Location.

It involves filling out the web form's rendered Task Fields, and (if applicable) uploading photos to satisfy the Photo Policies.

Once the Task is completed, the status of the Task for the Location will show as complete everywhere the location is listed.

Permissions

Your project role must have the below permissions enabled in order to perform these operations:

  • Role::Locations::View
  • Role::Task Answers::Create
  • Role::Photos::Create

The below steps are performed from the view page of the Location you created in the previous step.

If you do not still have that page open, here's how you can get to it:

  1. Navigate to your project's Dashboard:
  • In the sidebar navigation, select your project
  • Click on Dashboard
  • From the Deploy homepage, click on the Dashboard button for your project
  1. In the project card , click on the Locations button
  2. Click on the name of the Location you previously created

Complete the Web Form

  1. In the Tasks card , notice the grey clock symbol next to the Task name. This indicates that the task has not yet been started.
  2. Click on the Perform button for the Task
  3. Fill out the fields in the form. For example, you can use:
    • Rack Count: 1
    • 208v Power Exists: Yes
    • Rack Type: 2-post
    • Notes: Rack is under Guinan's bar
  4. Click the Submit button

Once submitted, you are taken back to the Location view page and the Task status will now show an orange partial symbol meaning the task is "in progress"

The answers given in the web form also appear in the Task card .

Upload a Photo

  1. Click on the Add Photos button for the Task
    • A modal window will pop up where you can attach a photo
  2. Select the proper Photo Policy you want to use for attaching a photo
  3. Set a Photo Description for the photo, like "Front of rack"
  4. Drop the photo into the upload area, or click on the area to open a file browser
  5. Upload a second photo so the Photo Policy requirement of 2 photos is satisfied
  6. Click on the X in the corner of the modal window to close it

Now that the web form is submitted and two photos have been attached, the Task status will show as complete
