Create a Project

Projects are the top level hierarchical components in Deploy. They contain all the working elements used to organize data capture processes and artifacts.

New projects can be requested or created from the homepage, where projects are listed.

Permissions

Not all users are allowed to create new projects. It requires the Global::New Project Creation permission which can only be granted to users by the Deploy admins.

This permission is withheld by default because many Deploy users are enrolled short-term to perform surveys and never have a need to create their own projects.

To check whether or not you have the New Project Creation permission, you can visit your My Account page and view the permission status in the Global Permissions table

If you would like to have New Project Creation permission you can request it by navigating to the My Account page, scrolling down to the Global Permissions table and clicking the Request button. Fill out an optional message in the description field and Submit.

Create a Project (with permissions)

If you have the New Project Creation permission, you can create a project without making a request:

  1. Visit the Homepage
  2. Click the New button at the top of the Projects table
  3. Enter a Name for the project (i.e., Enterprise Network Refresh)
  4. Optional Change the generated URL Slug (1)
  5. Click Submit

Upon submission your project will be created, you will be added to it as the sole Team Member with full permissions, and you will be directed to the project dashboard.

  1. A project's URL Slug is used in your browser's URL to access all pages in the project. It will be seen in any links you share from the project.

    The URL Slug may contain only letters, numbers, underscores and hyphens and must be globally unique

Request Project Creation (without permissions)

If you don't have the New Project Creation permission, you can request the creation of a project:

  1. Visit the Homepage
  2. Click the Request New Project button at the top of the Projects table
  3. Fill out the name you want the project to have in the Description field
  4. Click Submit

Once the request is submitted, it will be reviewed by an admin and you will be notified of its status.
