Exporting
Every Export page has at least a few fields with options you can adjust:
- Export File Format: The format/extension you want to use to export data (See File Extensions). The default format selected is XLSX (Modern Excel Format)
- Columns/Fields: Which data fields you want to Export; you can use this to remove some fields if you don't want them in the exported file. By default all fields are selected.
Permissions
Exporting data requires the Read permission for whichever item type you are exporting.
For example, when exporting Locations, you must have the permission enabled.
Filters¶
Some Export pages also have drop down filters you can use to limit the items being exported.
For example: the Locations export page allows you to select a Site and/or a Location Group so you can export only the Locations which belong to those parents.
Extra Data¶
Exported data sometimes contains extra, information data which is not an immediate attribute of the exported component.
For example: exported Locations will contain a "Type" column which indicates the type of each Location. However, Locations do not have a "Type" field. Instead they inherit their Type from their parent Location Group. The extra column is included in the export for the convenience of the user.
Note
These extra data columns will be ignored if included in an import file.
